About this tool

Write non-ASCII characters as escapes for JavaScript, CSS or HTML, or turn escapes back into text. Inspect shows each character's code point, UTF-8 bytes, UTF-16 units and general category.

Characters outside the basic plane, such as most emoji, are written as two units in the classic JavaScript form and as one value in the braces form. Inspect lists the first 2000 characters. Input is limited to 1 MB.
